Attorney Daryl D. Parks, a Haines City, Florida native, is the managing partner at the Parks and Crump, LLC law firm. He has distinguished himself as a successful litigator, masterful courtroom attorney, accomplished business owner, and servant of the people.  As a servant to the people, the firm of Parks and Crump represented Martin Anderson, the black teen who died while in a boot-camp youth detention center. The law firm won the Anderson family $7.2 million in damages from the State of Florida and Bay County, the largest amount ever paid by the State of Florida in an individual wrongful death case. The Trayvon Martin case catapulted Attorney Parks and the Parks and Crump law firm to international heights. Parks has appeared nationally on MSNBC, Fox News, CNN, and Dr. Phil.

Attorney Parks is a lifetime member of the National Bar Association, the oldest and largest association of African-American attorneys and judges in the United States. In 2011, his commitment and dedication to the mission and principles of the National Bar Association resulted in his election as its 69th President.

In 2010, Governor Charlie Crist appointed Attorney Parks to the Judicial Nominating Commission for the First District Court of Appeals for Florida and in 2011, United States Senator Bill Nelson appointed Attorney Parks to the Federal Judicial Nominating Commission for the Northern District of Florida.  In 2011 Attorney Parks became the Chairman of the Minority Caucus and a member of the Board of Governors for the American Association for Justice.

Attorney Parks is the recipient of countless other awards and recognition including the 2012 NAACP Chairman of the Board Award, the Florida Bar’s Henry Latimer Diversity Award, Advocates Award given by the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Law, and in 2013 the American Justice Association’s Johnnie L. Cochran Soaring Eagle Award.

Attorney Parks is committed to making a difference in the lives of others and has done so through such volunteer activities as Chairman of the Board of the FAMU Foundation, Vice Chair of the FAMU Board of Trustees, and as Chair of the FAMU Boosters.  He has given generously as a member of the Board of Directors of the Tallahassee Urban League, Chair of the Leon County Sickle Cell Foundation, and Board member of the Bethel Community Development Corporation.  In 2008, his law firm contributed $1 million to Legal Services of North Florida.  Attorney Parks’ significant levels of generosity earned him the title of Philanthropist of the Year from the Association of Fundraising Professionals. His compassion for others extends outside of the United States and because of the medical mission trips he has sponsored, health has been improved and lives have been saved for thousands of men, women, and children in Africa.

Attorney Parks attended the Florida Agriculture and Mechanical University on a Presidential Scholarship where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Economics. He received his Juris Doctorate degree from the Florida State University College of Law.
